Friends of DB Productions Release Their New Film: 16 Acres

16 Acres tells the story of the rebuilding of ground zero, one of the most “architecturally, politically, and emotionally complex urban renewal projects in American history.” The writer and producer of this powerful new documentary is a longtime documentary filmmaking colleague of our executive producer. The film is being touted by the New York Post as “riveting and emotional,” as it shares how and why this project was built, why it is such a significant milestone in American history.

The film also touches upon the various obstacles and setbacks that have occurred over the course of the 11+ years of construction, due to the controversial and delicate nature of the downtown location that was once home to the twin towers.  The film tells the story of the people behind the project, and the various parties who feel a certain emotional or political connection to the site–and the conflicts that result.

16 acres premiered this past Friday, November 16, at the Quad Cinema in Greenwich Village. DB Productions would like to congratulate the filmmakers on the success of their film, and the tremendous efforts they made in sharing the story of this monumental project and the impact it has made, and will continue to make, on the people of New York City.
